Field trips

I have birding trips to exotic places, but I do many day trips in the north Georgia Mountains.  If you are interested in birding places like Dawson Forest WMA Atlanta Tract, Ivy Log Road, Burrell’s Ford, Hale Ridge, Cartersville, Lanierland Park, George Pierce Park, and more, please contact Georgann.

There is no charge for these trips.  Confirm that you are joining me with an email.

Directions

Dawson Forest WMA Atlanta Tract is at the western end of Dawson Forest Road.  Navigate to Hwy 9 and Dawson Forest Rd WEST, driving west out of the double round about there.  Continue West to the open gate into the WMA.  There is a power line cut at the entrance, cross over that and turn right into the horse trailer parking.  (no bathrooms at this site, but lots of trees!)

George Pierce Park is at 50 Buford Hwy NE, Suwanee GA.  Drive all the way to the the farthest parking lot.  Meet at trail head.  (Bathrooms available)

Sosebee Cove is on Hwy 180 north of Suches.  Take 60 north out of Dahlonega, over Woody Gap and down the hill to Suches.  Take a right on 180 and drive approximately 8.3 miles to parking on left which is Sosebee Cove.

Monument Road is off Hwy 136.  Take GA 400 west on 136, or Steve Tate Road west to 136.
